INTERESTS
When I'm not in the classroom, I spend my time dedicated to my interests - the most prominent of which are my love for sailing, cars, and the outdoors.
I've had a love for sailing since the age of 13 in the Boy Scouts. Throughout my time in high school, and continuing today, I have sailed almost every weekend for two different J/105 teams. A J/105 is a 10.5 meter sailboat made by J-Boats.
In addition to my love for sailing, I also spend an equal amount of time around cars. Since the summer of 2012, I have worked for Kip Motor Company - a local antique-European restoration shop - as the shop assistant, working my way up to marketing. This has helped me understand how cars work and has reshaped my love for automotive beauty. I also worked for Yount Motorsports, an IMSA racing team, during the summer of 2015.
Moving into my love for the outdoors, I grew up camping and hiking every month from Cub Scouts all the way through my Eagle Scout. The Scouting program not only shaped my leadership ability, but my outdoor skills too. Now, as a young adult, I try to get out as much as possible - be it cycling, sailing, climbing, or backpacking.
